I decided to create a blog...

Here is my story -  Only read this if you are bored.  I am 32, I have a beautiful wife and now have 2 little guys.  Life has been crazy ever since the the additions came along.  I have enjoyed my adventures through the years with my wife Carlynn and my great friends.   Over the past couple of years I have been feeling like I need to find something fun to occupy my time - not that I have any extra time!  So after work one night Carlynn sent me to the store to pick up some medicine that she had ready at the local pharmacy.  While I waited I was thumbing through a car magazine (don't remember which one) and came across a picture of a cool looking car.  The ad said something to the effect that you could buy their kit for as little as $12,990.  That just did not compute considering how cool that car looked.  I went home that night dreaming of cruising the streets, like in the good ol' days, in a fine piece of automotive perfection.  Not to mention trying not to forget the company website address that sponsored the ad.  It was Factory Five Racing.  When I got home I checked out the site and was HOOKED!!!  Ever since that night sometime in October of 2007 I have been trying to figure out just how in the hell I was going to make this dream happen...and convince my wife to allow me to purchase a kit!
While perusing the net and fueling that fire, I found the Utah Cobra Club.  I noticed that there were a couple of the local guys that lived pretty close.  So, out of the blue, I decided to call up one of them, Jim Doak, here in Utah and see if he would let me come over and bug him about his car.  I couldn't believe how cool he was to invite me over to his home and shoot the breeze with me about his car.  One thing led to another and he drove me over to get acquainted with Roy Gregerson, The "Utah Cobra Guy".  I went home that Saturday with a grin a mile wide.  After a talk with Carlynn, I crawled back into my cave for about a year and a half, to think about my priorities.  Hmmm, pay off the house or save up for a cobra.  What would you do?  Hey, most of these guys in the cobra club wish they would have done something as fun as building their dream years ago.  So, after finding out how to finance the beast, I took the plunge on February 27, 2009 and ordered my kit.  Man, that was the best feeling ever!  I felt like those guys on the Viagra commercial that ran out of their homes, hootin' and haulerin', as if they just ran for a touchdown in the SuperBowl!  Yeah, it was that cool.
So when I tell you to sit back, shut up, and hold on, you will know I am ready to have fun!
Thanks for visiting, enjoy the site,
-Don
